Carnevale 2008 Sensation

People dressed for the Carnival in Venice Italy. Carnival or Carnevale in Italian, is a celebration for the 10 days before Lent, the Christian time of fasting before Easter Sunday. People come from all over the globe to participate in the celebration that is centered in Piazza San Marco. They dress in elaborate costumes with masks. There are performaces of the Commedia dell'arte as well as parades throughout the city.
